Improv Origins
Improvisation is a spiritual tool. It can allow us to express our fears, strengths, traumas, dreams, and it can channel stories that are unknown to us, giving them substance. Shamanic journey is an exercise in improvisation within the imagination. Spolin Games, the original American improvisation exercises, use interaction with space and others to unify a group and allow them to become channels for compelling story. Improvisation can become a way of life, as we learn to encounter the world with an attitude of exploration--a series of exercises in deepening and heightening experience. As we look toward the future amidst strange times, what should we call forth from the abyss to help us? How should we focus the imagination together to create transformative performances?

This 3.5 hour workshop will ask for your imaginative stamina. Please come prepared to hold space for others, and make eye contact with fellow participants.
