Native Detroiter, Katie Thomas, wrote a TV show and so can you!

In the TV Writing class, Katie will impart the knowledge she gained during her four years in the writers’ room of Teachers, the TV Land sitcom she co-created with her independent comedy group, The Katydids.

The class will feature an introduction to the basics of structure and content needed to write a successful half-hour comedy script, including tips on creating a successful logline, show bible, episode outline. Students will participate in short writing exercises on which they’ll receive instructor and peer feedback.

Students are welcome to bring preexisting ideas for content to workshop during the writing exercises, but this is absolutely not required.
